Rocdezvous connects young individuals, small friend groups, and newcomers through strategic serendipity. We have a mission to forge relationships between those who find it hard to meet new people and those who find it hard to just fit in.

We were born out of a craving for connection. Our always-room-for-more mindset is grounded in thoughtful and cautious processes that push the purpose of our events beyond the latest entertainment. We represent the timid as we strive to become your fairy godmother of friendship.

Rocdezvous creates the social scene for strangers to gather - where saying hello from the table over, cheers’ing anyone for the sake of cheers’ing, or shouting through the volume of the live music are the point, not penalty.

OUR MISSION

FOUNDERS

Claire Sauter

MARKETING & CFO

Claire is in her last year at St. John Fisher College. Her educational track of Media Management and Ethics combines the study of marketing, media, communications, advertising, and public relations.

Traveling, meeting new people from cities and other cultures, and experiencing the good of local mission-based businesses and non-profit causes are Claire’s niche. With the co-founding of Rocdezvous, she combines her educational and professional experiences with her interests in culture, people, and small stories. She wants to help people create new stories.

Emily Liptak

BUSINESS LIAISON

Emily is a soon to be graduate of St John Fisher College with a degree in Media Management.  She will soon be looking for a “grown up job” after graduation and faces the stress of moving to a new place, which is why Rocdezvous is a project she feels connected to, she may someday have to use it herself!

Morgan van der Horst

OPERATIONS MANAGER

Morgan is in her senior year at St. John Fisher as a Media Management major and double minor in English
and Digital Cultures and Technologies. Her educational and professional experiences have equipped her with the skills and adaptability to manage the uncertainties of launching a startup, but it's her impulsive curiosity that connects her to the fun and youthful mission of Rocdezvous. No stranger
to the left and right swiping of dating apps, Morgan is just as frustrated with the constant feeling of a better connection just one more swipe away and wants to bring all of us
back to the basics of forming friendships - crossing paths in person. Catch her at a Rocdezvous event or a Roc hotspot and you’ll find her talking to everyone, and talking fast. Life’s too short to miss a beat.

Lainie Lucas

MARKETING

Lainie is completing her final semester for her undergraduate degree in both Digital Cultures and Technologies and Media and Communications at St. John Fisher College. Her educational experiences in the Rochester community have allowed her to develop skills in analytical research, rebranding, account services, and website development for many local Rochester businesses.

Rocdezvous is a reflection of Lainie's bold, adventurous spirit, and her extrovert personality.
